The Allama Iqbal Open University has issued the admission notification for Matric/ Intermediate (10th12th & other courses of Undergraduate Programs (AIOU 2020) AIOU 2022 Result, AIOU Admission 2022 & AIOU Fee Structure.

The Purpose of AIOU

The Allama Iqbal Open University is aimed at providing opportunities for all those who want to pursue higher education, but cannot do so owing to personal and financial reasons. It gives them an opportunity to participate in a university system that also emphasizes research activities as well as teaching excellence.

This is particularly important in today’s world when knowledge of science and technology determines economic strength and advancement. Qualified students can now have access to education without having to go through the formalities required by conventional universities. At the same time, AIOU continues with its mission of expanding educational opportunities for all segments of Pakistani society.

Therefore it maintains both undergraduate and postgraduate programs which lead to bachelor, Master, or Ph.D. degrees after qualifying examinations held by three separate Boards:

(i) Board of Intermediate & Secondary Education Islamabad

How to Fill AIOU Application Form

Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced the admission schedule for all programs of Undergraduate, Postgraduate, and Diploma Programs in AIOU Fall Semester Admission Spring 2019. All candidates interested to apply in AIOU can check AIOU admission requirements, eligibility criteria, how to fill out the online application form, and more details. Candidates will be informed that AIOU is a public sector institution established under an Act of Parliament; some degree programs are offered by other educational institutions affiliated with AIOU. The open university offers degree courses through these affiliated institutions as well as through its own Faculties/Campuses spread across Pakistan.

Eligibility Criteria for AIOU

There are two types of admissions to AIOU – Open and Specific. Open admission is offered through online mode and students can apply at any time throughout the year. A student can join any program as per their interest without fulfilling any qualification criteria. Specific admission is offered after fulfillment of a qualification criterion which may include an admission test, aptitude test, previous degree, etc. Students who apply under a specific category will be considered for admission based on their previous academic records and performance in specified tests only. This results in decreased acceptance ratio for a specific category. Other eligibility criteria include citizenship, age limit, minimum grade requirement, etc.

Fee Structure of AIOU

The college may cancel any application without assigning any reason. If a student has secured admission in more than one program offered by Aiou, he/she has to fill up a separate admission form for each program separately and pay a separate fee. The diploma will be issued on successful completion of the study only after payment of all dues to Aiou as per the schedule given below. Any delay in payment will result in cancellation of admission and the certificate thereafter shall not be released until such time that all dues are cleared.

Money orders or bank drafts should be drawn from any nationalized bank payable at Lahore to Secretary, Allama Iqbal Open University. Please mention your name, course code, and roll number on the back side of the money order or bank draft while sending it to us; otherwise, you have to wait till we send you the bill through the post office after receiving your registration form before making payment through money order or draft at Nationalized Bank’s nearby branches.

Important Dates of Aiou

Aiou online admission form submission begins on January 5th, 2022. The last date to submit the Allama Iqbal Open University admission form is February 22th, 2022. Aiou one semester admissions start on April 1st, 2022, and will continue till July 31st, 2022. Allama Iqbal Open University admission test for new students will be held on September 10th and September 11th, 2022.

Admit Card and Seat Plan

AIOU Admit Card is now available online. Applicants can download their admit cards from the official website. The admit card is issued on behalf of Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU). AIOU has released a seating plan for the BS program and MS program for the academic year 2022-2026. The seating plan will be updated every year on AIOU’s official website so that applicants can take admitted according to university rules.

Important Documents Needed at the Time of Admission to AIOU

The following documents are mandatory for admission to AIOU, Islamabad. Otherwise, a candidate will not be allowed to sit in any test or interview. All original documents must be produced at AIOU within 24 hours of submission of the application form.

What Will be the Process?

The AIOU undergraduate admission process includes two parts i.e: a centralized admission system (CAS) and Allama Iqbal Open University’s own admission test. The CAS would be conducted online while AIOU’s own admission test will be based on a viva-voce basis.

When Can You Apply For the Aiou Entry Test?

The Allama Iqbal Open University (AIOU) has announced admission tests for two-year and four-year programs in different disciplines to be held in June. Prospective students can apply online from May 21 to June 20, 2022.
